The final public show this season at Networks Theatre is the classic story of The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett in an adaptation by their Artistic Director Nick Moore.
The Secret Garden tells the story of Mary Lennox, a recently orphaned girl, who returns to Britain from India to the care of her uncle Archibald, played by Nick Moore.
Upon arrival she finds a house in disarray. Her uncle is still grieving the death of his wife ten years before; she hears strange screams at night echoing through the house. It is as she will soon discover her cousin Colin destined to die under the strict control of their Aunt Elisabeth.
To alleviate her boredom Mary asks for a bit of earth to grow some flowers. She discovers a secret locked garden. This is the garden where her Aunt had tragically died all those years before. She finds the key and decides to bring the garden back to life….and in doing so…she unlocks more than the secrets of the past.
An experienced and talented cast has been assembled and there are to be some fantastic design surprises, created by Dennis Carpenter. To see this wonderful timeless tale and have a great evening out, contact Networks Theatre.
