The Scarecrow Girl, a touching and intimate play with songs, was first presented in 2008 and tells the story of “Loopy” Loella the girl who lives in the forest. It’s the Great Depression in Sweden and with her mother away in America looking for work, Loella is left to look after her two baby brothers alone. She finds it hard to cope and social services are soon threatening to take the children into care. With no-one to turn to, Loella talks to the scarecrow in the nearby field.
Maybe she is mad as she hears his voice, advising her what to do but more importantly reassuring her that one day their family will reunited…and you know never maybe with father as well.
