As we’ve done for the past 26 years, Networks Theatre returns with another season packed with comedy, drama, music, and lots of English! In this short article, we’ll take you through all the different shows we’re bringing back this season so you don’t miss a single one.
If there’s something that characterises our theatre, it’s our dedication to pantomime. Like many other venues across the UK, we’re always thrilled to bring a panto to the stage each year — and this time it’s Puss in Boots! A fun-filled story about a poor boy who inherits a talking cat and ends up becoming the prince of the kingdom! In this show, you’ll find everything that makes a traditional panto so special: music, dancing, jokes, the goodie, the baddie, the dame, and so much more! Tickets are available from the beginning of November on our website.
Once the festivities are over, we’ll set sail for adventure with Treasure Island, just before Easter. Imagine the classic pirate tale transformed into a musical packed with songs by The Beatles — a fun, feel-good show full of laughter and great music!
Last but not least, a show that hasn’t graced our stage in 21 years: The Prince and The Pauper! When a young prince meets a poor boy who looks exactly like him, they decide to swap places and see what life is like on the other side. Adapted from Mark Twain’s original novel, this drama explores identity, justice, and empathy in a world where appearances can be deceiving. Performances at the end of May.
We can’t finish without mentioning our two theatre courses — the backbone of our productions and, quite often, our own little gold mine! It’s through these short courses that the stars of our future shows begin to shine. This year’s schedule includes two classics from our repertoire: Christmas at the Majestic Hotel and Romeo and Juliet. These productions mark the start of the holidays for our students at the academy, and they’re the perfect example of how learning English becomes so much more fun when it’s used for something as creative as theatre.
As you can tell, we have a season bursting with amazing shows!
